I built this barn when I was 15. Now it looks like I feel most days. In 08 I had a friend who lost his job and started doing handyman work. I told dad it only needed a few pieces of tin and a few 2x4’s and my friend could finish it in a day. He didn’t want to spend the money, it’s his barn. It’s really gone downhill since then. I hate to see it fall into disrepair. My grandpa helped me build it. He used a walking cane and had bad cataracts back then but he could hand me up 2x4’s or tin. There is no electricity over here. I cut every piece of wood with a handsaw and every nail went in with a hammer. The year before a tornado had destroyed everything we had. In the old house the walls and ceilings were built with southern yellow V-joint pine. I salvaged all of that wood I could. It’s what I used for flooring in this hay barn. Prettiest floor I’ve ever seen in a barn.
