I built this barn when I was 15. Now it looks like I feel most days. In 08 I had a friend who lost his job and started doing handyman work. I told dad it only needed a few pieces of tin and a few 2x4’s and my friend could finish it in a day. He didn’t want to spend the money, it’s his barn. It’s really gone downhill since then.

I hate to see it fall into disrepair. :( My grandpa helped me build it. He used a walking cane and had bad cataracts back then but he could hand me up 2x4’s or tin. There is no electricity over here. I cut every piece of wood with a handsaw and every nail went in with a hammer.

The year before a tornado had destroyed everything we had. In the old house the walls and ceilings were built with southern yellow V-joint pine. I salvaged all of that wood I could. It’s what I used for flooring in this hay barn. Prettiest floor I’ve ever seen in a barn. :D Barn 18_v1.jpg

My relatives that were loggers in Oregon used chainsaws with 6 foot blades. Mine? 14 inches.

That is a very sad story. When we sold our Arabian we were surprised at how few people in our area were not interested. They work cattle around here so....Arabians are not it. A lady who loves them came from Dallas and bought him. He was an awesome horse... sure loved to run!

Ive seen that after heavy rains . I'm guessing that he had insurance. Lotta Mercs there! I saw one like that that a guy from Florida ran aground on a sand bar in Savannah on opening of a tournament at 4AM. My friend was on board. He kept telling the guy to turn to port. "The guy said Shut-up I know what I'm doing." So my friend said " I shut up and braced for impact. The guy ran the boat 35 feet up on the sandbar. Took 2 days for Seatow to dig it out and drag it back off.

Those cords from the chute to the harness are used to steer the chute. I can't imagine this.

When there were rattlesnakes on the steps at my grandparents ranch, it was definitely time to shoot em up. One of my uncles had a tobacco can full of rattles.

We bought some canned rattlesnake to try with our kids when they were young. Cooked in brown sugar. Tasted like chicken in brown sugar

I had some college in West Texas in San Angelo which is smack in the middle of rattlesnake country. I went through the food line once and they actually served it!! I had already tried it fresh at a rattlesnake show and it was much better.
