THIS is a Chinook. YOU are having delusions!! LOL!!
Snowing, windy, and 23 degrees. I have not gone out to see how much snow we have gotten yet, but reports are that there are 4 to 7 inches locally.
Today Jan 21st is a beautiful Day. It is 70 degrees and a bit Windy but who cares. The Clouds are coming in with Rain in the Forecast, and a drop in Temp, but the Weather is looking very mild until the end of the Month. Some where about the middle of February the Robins return, which for me signals the end of Winter, even if the Calendar says no.
50° out there today. Tee shirt weather!
74° windy and sunny. I think Oklahoma traded winter's with 'Bama!
I don't know which state traded us winters, but I wish they'd take it back!! Warmer now, though...60's and 70's for the next week at least. THAT is more like it!!
@VenomJockey I could make some uncomplimentary reference to the mentality of helicopter pilots, and I know they call that thing a chinook, but it pales in comparison to the power of the weather pattern. Now don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the utility of your toy but it’s puny power can only change the atmosphere in a limited range
58 Days till Spring!
Until today, we have had little moisture, and we needed it, even if it is snow.
48 degrees at 927 pm. looks like mid 30s for the morning low. Should start warming tomorrow. Light Breeze feels chilly. Very dry air.
Sunny and zero degrees this morning. Coldest we have had all winter to date. Upper 30's this afternoon supposedly
Yesterday the interstate, I-70, was closed from just east of Denver to Burlington, Colorado, which is almost the Kansas State Line. Today, we are supposed to be in the 40s. The sun is out now and it is already 34 degrees out.
Forecast high 5C (42F) with some possible rain and wind. Will take some moreof the snow cover away. That isn’t good. Too early to lose the snow, we could be very dry this summer and the forests are already dry. Last year we had the worst forest fires on record, rather not do that again.
The other problem is that when the snow starts melting it isn’t pretty anymore. All the forest debris begins to show and things just look dirty
Yes, the winter wonderland changes to a muddy looking scene. I have seen this many times. Our snow never lasts long. We might get a big dump, but within a few days, only the snow in the shadows remains.
60 degrees here in northern alabama. It's been raining for about an hour, should stop before noon.
On our trip around the sun the winter quarter will end February 2, 2018. You have just 11 days to get your fill of winter. Note that just because winter ends doesn't mean that temperatures will suddenly warm. It takes time for that to happen so there are likely to be cold days ahead but the earth has already begun to climb out of it's wintry shroud. The days are longer and the sun spends more time heating in this transition. Spring will be half over on March 20, the spring equinox, and the days will be longer than the nights until we are half way through summer.
Take some time to appreciate the winter's end.
57 right now on the northern cumberland plateau of TN. Supposed to have the bottom fall out of the mercury this evening and then it is a roller coaster ride from there! Low tonite expected in the upper 20's so 30 degree swing.
I looked at a drought map yesterday and we are ok here but I see that about 75% of the US is in some stage of a drought! I hope you all that are dry get some wet stuff, we are supposed to be getting some later today....again! Our dog is a muddy mess, of course he goes trotting through any puddle he can find to!
I'm about to have a line of strong rain/thunderstorms come through. Looks as if they will only be here for an hour or two.
Then in the mid to high 50s. Not too bad of a day for here.
86 degrees at 3pm, winds peaked at 1PM 12 MPH. 82 now winds at 3 MPH. Low will be 57. My Peach trees are in Bloom.
We're so dry in Okla that we are now under burn bans in at least most of the state. We're watering all of our fruit trees just to keep them alive. I'm hoping the don't start budding because it will mean no fruit again this year.
Nah....its a CH46. LOL
50s for a high and 30s for a low... We are back to normal.

I hate "ICE"
Balmy 45 windy degrees here today. Hopefully some much needed rain tomorrow.
Everyday for the last week or so has been low of low to mid 20's and highs of around 60. Very nice!
We had 3" yesterday and tomorrow looks like another 4"-6"
I've had enough winter now.
We are headed for a good covering of ice tonight, then temps drop in teens...
Ye ...I'm convinced ....Winter ain't never gonna end this year.
